add Hunger and Sickness

Hi PA,


Im a great fan of BDO and also survival games. I noticed that you have both cooking and alchemy system but are not fully utilized. I'd like to suggest a game mechanics that would implement both hunger and sickness. Cooking and Alchemy for creating food and meds.  

 

Hunger debuff- It is a bar that fills up slowly as character gets hungry. when character enters hunger phase, it weakens the player, drains SP/MP and reduced AP and LT. Once hunger is not remediated players HP starts to drain.  can be remedied by eating food. large meals will grant both buffs and removes hunger. A separate food buff grants a status of Full belly that prevents from getting hungry for a small amount of time (30mins). Once buff runs out, the hunger meter will start to work again.  hunger cycle should coincide with day/night cycle for Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner.   Also running and killing monster increases hunger meter faster.

Cooking and alchemy crafting should work with campfire/campsite :) but with +10 seconds to cooking/alchemy crafting timer.  utensils should still be the faster way.

 

Sickness debuff - introduce several types of illness/sickness/infections to the game. can be acquired randomly from getting hit by certain high level monsters. Each sickness has a corresponding cure that has to be crafted.  Each sickness has debuffs that greatly affects character stats and speed or even sight. new game effects like blurry screen or red/bloody screen etc.   Applying cure/meds does not immediately removes the illness/debuff/status instead the character slowly recovers like regaining strenght or screeneffects starts to become clearer slowly etc. And sleeping in bed on either via campsite or at home will increase recovery time :)

 

Update the campsite tool to allow party members to use it. either to sleep or to craft food/meds.  Add also stable feature on campsite allowing players to switch horses/donkey/elephants :) it will promote the use and sale of the campsite tool.

 

And Fairy will have a new skill food/meds auto consume.

 

There are several herbs/ingredients all over BDO and most of them are not even used. This system will help put value to these materials/ingredients by providing players several reasons to use and craft foods and potions/meds.

in theory, hunger and sickness feature would be great additions to an MMO. It would give more immersion and a sense of survival game.

But in practice, it would be annoying. Desert sickness is already annoying, thank god PA temporarily remove it now.

It's a video game, not a real life. We should get fun, not suffering.

 

So, i say nope to those features.

why should u think about eating something in the middle of siege war nor high ap grinding zone
that would be annoyin
