Cooking is the endgame for some of the other Lifeskills. Cooking outputs are the final products, which you can make money off either from Imperial Cooking Delivery or by selling to the Central Market. Food has a lot of usage in Black Desert, pet food, worker food and food buffs can all be produced with cooking at various levels of efficiency depending on your Cooking level.

You Will Need:

Residence - Any will do, the less CP required, the better. Residences can be found in towns, villages, and nearby surrounding areas.
> Open your map (M)
> Click town of your choice (I chose Calpheon)
> Filter "Residence" on the upper right hand corner of the map
> Select your Residence, and buy it with Contribution Points (CP)

Cooking Utensils - Any will do. Can be bought from the cook NPC inside an inn, bought from Central Market, or crafted in a Tool Woorkshop. The better the cooking tool, the less cooking time. If you choose to make your own tools (recommended), follow the steps for Residence, but this time filter "Tool Workshop" and choose the level (1-3).

Cooking Ingredients - Depending on your mastery level and which item you decide to cook, these materials will vary. You can refer to the crafting notes for the specific ingredients. For this guide we will cook one of the simplest recipes needed too feed workers, Beer.

OPTIONAL:

Silver Embroidered Cook's Clothes - This is optional as cooking can be performed without it. But this helps lessen cooking time and give additional cooking exp. The higher the upgrade, the less cooking time spent and the more bonus cooking exp. I use a +3.

Lifeskill Accesories: Manos/Geranoa/Loggia - Increases your Lifeskill Mastery. The higher the mastery, the higher the chances of mass cooking (multiples), and the max amount made when max cooking happens. Also increases chances of getting the higher grade versions of the dish (blue instead of green), and the bonus profit from turning in Imperial Craft delivery boxes. Definitely something to invest in, but cooking can be performed without these.

Canape Clothes/Cook's Clothes - Pearl shop item that decreases cooking time and adds cooking exp. Similar to the Cook's clothes, but can be worn as costume as an added effect. Alternatively, you can buy the Cook's clothes from Luxury Vendor (Lizle Carta, Calpheon), and use a tailoring coupon from the Pearl Shop to turn it into a costume.

Lets Start Cooking:

1. Go to your chosen residence.

2. Click on Place Mode on the upper-middle part of your screen upon entering your residence.

3. Install the Cooking Utensil from your inventory and interact with it (R).

4. The cooking menu will pop-up, place the ingredients good for 1 piece of beer. If you place ingredients for more than 1 piece the cooking utentsil will consume all of your ingredients but still make 1 piece of beer.

5. Click Start or Batch Processing.

Cooked food goes to your bag so investing in weight (LT) will benefit you in the long run, also most Lifeskills will eventually need a higher weight limit. Other than the final product, cooking also produces Witch's Delicacy which can be exchange for ingredients like Milk, Contribution Exp, and Cooking Exp, among others.

Last Leveling Tips:

1. Residence Near Storage - by doing this you save time in getting ingredients from the storage NPC and save Contribution points by not borrowing the storage chest (10 CP).

2. Cooking Warehouse - by turning your residence into a cooking warehouse where you have nothing but Cooking Utensils, you can easily move from 1 utensil to the next, and can mass cook without having to stop to get more utensils.

3. Use BDO Notepad - List your ingredients here. Saves time to ensure you don't forget and you won't have to check the ingredients from F2 or an external source.

4. Full Cooking Buffs - I just use Oasis Seafood cron, but any buffs that stack, food, potion and scroll, which adds Cooking level, reduce cooking time, and cooking mastery will all help.

5. Be patient. This is probably the most important thing in this Lifeskill and almost anything in Black Desert. The fortune will not come to you overnight, it takes time to build an empire.
