Perhaps one of my personally most daunting activities in BDO is completing knowledge (H). Other than it's a very long list, it also requires a combination of tasks, from amity games, to exploration, to doing a series of quests, among others. But currently, this is the only known way to increase your energy, and even if it's too much work, we gotta do, what we gotta do.
The Knowledge tab has 9 categories, Character, Topography, Sea, Ecology, Adventure Journal, Academics, Life Skill, Learning the Ropes of Black Desert, and Trade, but only Character to Academics earn you energy. Below are my tips on how to complete this efficienly.
1. Combination of Resources
Google is your friend when doing the Knowledge tab, and I personally used both Grumpy Green and Incendar. Grumpy Green for the detailed descriptions and Incendar for the order of the knowledge. Sometimes the info on 1 resource is not enough. I also used a lot of BDO Database for the Quest series. Many times when I was completing mine, I had to look at the resources to make sure Im in the right location.
2. Complete By Area
One of my early mistakes was I completed the knowledge by Category. Initially I completed Character tab first, then Topography. It was when I was doing Ecology that I realized I will save more time if I do it per area. This way I wouldn't have to go back and forth. With the exception of the Sea tab which I gave 2 full weekend days, as it is an area in itself. This is more work as you're basically creating your own list to follow, but I noticed that the extra work is worth it, rather than having to go back to the same area 2 or 3 times.
3. Practice Amity Games
One of the recurring tasks in a knowledge hunt is amity games. Either it is to build amity with an NPC to get the knowledge from them, or to build amity so you can get the quest required in the quest series. Some NPCs will offer quests that will give you enough amity so you can get the knowlege/quest they are offering. I also used a lot of Amity gain increase buffs while doing this. Sometimes there are NPCs that are so stubborn, the only way to increase amity with them is by greeting them (F5). This is easier to do once you hit the 400 energy mark.
4. Do All of The Quests Per Area
This requires a lot of work, especially for the Adventure Journal tab, a lot of knowledge is from a quest series. If you didn't do this before, you can always back track your quests using BDO Database, you'd have to visit every NPC based on the quest list, make sure the ALL icon on your Quest Type in O is selected. Similar to completing the knowledge per area, this will ensure that you don't have to go back to complete a quest. It also avoids confusion with back tracking.
5. Patience is A Virtue
As with anything that you want to achieve in Black Desert, either with gear enhancement, Life Skill levels, amount of silver, Knowledge/Energy requires patience, a lot of it. But this is something that you should not overthink and just do. Thinking too much and looking at the long list of things that you need to complete will discourage you. Just pick an area, and start. One day you'll look up from your feet and you'll be at your destination.
NOTE: These tips are based on my experience, if you have any additions kindly comment them below.
