Hello to all dearest BDO players,

 

I'm writing this to spread awareness of how deeply the class needs a change! Shai is loved by alot of people but also hated but nevertheless, alot of shais around the world are gathered together to raise awareness and work on ideas.

 

State of Shai (Introduction/Siege/NW)

As of 23/05/2021, We're mostly only applicable for Siege/Node War where we're mostly forced to build DP builds in the current meta and it's unappealing for new players and veteran players alike as there is no way for progression (PvE) except lifeskill or forced to tag/play another class which is detrimental to the population of shai players.  

  

In terms of Siege/Node War scene, we're barely a support, barely a tank. We lack heals for survivability and to save our allies, lacking of mobility to even run to allies and even then with the new ranged buffs, we couldn't even reach them or even miss them due to the pace of every war goes.

 

State of Shai (Grinding)

If you're wondering "oh, my shai has ap gear and I can do PvE", yes you can but based on trashloots... you'd be making 1.5x - 2.0x lesser than what an average player who grinds with other class, you'd be making more effort or time just to catch up to the trashloots that they'd make.

 

You might be wondering what about the changes on the 26th May, even with the upcoming changes, the increment of our damages are easily just a 30%+ increment [Based on Phelsong from NA Region, ~281 AP Kutum is only 7k yellow loot scroll at orcs and that's considered very high value as a grinding shai].

 

We love the playstyle of managing our buffs and debuffs and sharing them with allies and enemies alike but we spend way too much time on using them instead of actually having proper abilities where we could have fun grinding. We'd have to buff ourselves at every 1 batch of monsters to maximize our damage output and buffs, assuming that there's 7-8 batches of monster in a rotation. A shai takes a minimum of 2 seconds (This is only assuming that we don't get cc-ed and we're not locked into any skills) and more if we do get cc-ed. So if you do the math, we're spending 14 seconds and more for 1 round of a rotation cause of our short duration buffs.

 

So I'm asking you here and now, to show support and share this around. 

 

Our Shai community has weighed in on many things we think that it could make our class more playable and slightly more bearable or at least put us as a "average/decent/functional" in the current PvE "endgame" content.

Long Term Changes to Make Shai a more COMPLETE class
Shai is an amazing class. Shai has never felt like a finished or complete class even since she was released on the Global Lab.. Never really here never really there..

We want to be an AMAZING support class
We want MORE options to support our groups
We want to be decent in Solo PvE
We want to be more desirable for Group PvE

We want to be (barely) adequate for Solo PvP

We would like the Class we were promised on release.       

The Shai Community have put together a list of changes/ideas to help Shai finally feel finished.

 

Our PvP Modifiers put us at an extra disadvantage versus a few classes. These need to be normalized with the rest of our modifiers.

 

As Shai mains, not being able to tag our sol to another class, while the item holds the same value as a Dandelion is unacceptable.



Addons as a Shai are an ongoing issue. We spend so much time buffing/debuffing or other actions that do not involve hitting things, that we cannot maintain meaningful uptime on addons where we need them. We think they should be removed and their effects added into our base kit.



Core Skills... While we understand Core Skills do not make sense for the Shai Talent kit, we should have gotten SOMETHING instead of NOTHING. list of ideas were made by phelsong  thinking that it should bridge the gap of our Addon/Core Skill/Rank 3 choice problem…

Our Florang hit issues will probably not be easily solved. It would be nice to have some more GOOD and flexible damage options in Talent for problem situations and group content where we are mostly using our Talent skilltree anyways.

 

Our over-reliance on Quick Slots makes Shai hard to manage and makes us feel slow and clunky. Adding Succession style key inputs to Talent would help us to be better/more active supports and reduce those problems.



Our Heals and Support options feel lackluster in comparison to Witch/Wizard/Valk.
We would like MORE.

Shai is more vulnerable to damage and crowd control effects than most other classes.
We would like more tools and built-in defense to deal with this.

Shai currently has no option to provide DP or Evasion to allies.
We would like that as well.

Our roleplaying and life-skill related passives, while cute, do not provide any meaningful bonus.
We would like passives that reward people for playing Shai and also boost her support capabilities.

Our Artina Sol is currently incapable of getting to the Sheet AP levels of a Dandelion at Caphras level 20 or Pen Blackstar Awakening Weapon.

This NEEDS to be fixed.

Honestly, i feel shai is already a nerfed class to start with as in the amount of attack skill shais' have.
