To fellow Musicians and Music Lovers,

I would first like to start this off by stating that I am a returner and have been quite inactive the past year. That being said, I do not know all the updates that may have been made to the Music system of BDO. However, I vividly recall logging in last year after the weekly maintenance and finding the newly added "Music Album" tab. I was pleasantly pleased with this addition and wanted to tinker around with it as soon as possible, after 10 minutes of messing around with the system I decided to try to connect my MIDI controller to my computer to see if it is supported. This, sadly was not the case. I then decided to try composing short melodies and found out that only Shais could play music, I understand that it ties in nicely with the Shais' talent and aptitude for the arts and such but still decided to post a suggestion regarding allowing other classes to play music.  I also recall thinking that live music would be a great addition to this new music system as this will allow a more personal and dynamic connection between the audience and the musicians, live musical concerts could be a daily occurence in the game where a group of adventurers could play together in real time, form bonds and genuinely unforgettable memories.

here is the post I made regarding the music system when it came out for your reference : https://www.sea.playblackdesert.com/Community/Detail?topicNo=29258&topicType=8

That being said, I have recently come back to the game around a month ago and the first thing I decided to check was the music composer. As expected, MIDI support was still not implemented and neither was liveplay. While there have been additions of new instruments that can be earned and collected and in-game concerts have been a thing. I still think there is more that could be added to further make music in BDO better. While I understand that there are limitations due to how the music composition system has been implemented, I still think that it's worth noting how good of a foundation the game already has for live music. There are various intruments with a large range of pitches, different sounds, a lot of passionate composers that spend an unholy amount of time creating compositions for people to play regardless of the difficulty of process of composing a song. If you look at these reasons above, there is already a good foundation for music in this game, and investing time to further improve upon it will only invite more of these music lovers to stay and appreciate this part of the game.

Imagine being able to play in real time with your friends, sailing while a band of musicians play sea shanties together live, improvised music, jazz clubs in Black Desert, the possibilities for role playing are endless. You could quite literally become a bard in a game that has beautiful scenery, wonderfully designed cities, and a large assortment of players. The world is your stage. Live music is a lot more personal and can have a lot more emotion behind it than pre-recorded music. This is why being able to hear a song is cheaper than going to an opera house to watch a live performance. Or how listening to songs on youtube is free while going to concerts is expensive. You don't pay to listen to the music, you pay for the experience of being able to listen to it as it is played live in front of an audience with the same interest in music as you. While MIDI composition may be harder to implement due to size limitations and possible copyright issues, I believe that MIDI support for live music should still be considered as it can just add way more to the musical experience of BDO with a bit of effort.

If y'all think live music would be an awesome addition, please do support this post!

Hey Mafichi! A MIDI Controller support would be way too much for BDO to implement but it would be a really nice addition.  Regarding Live play, All the musics in the album can be performed by the Shai as long as you have the instruments needed for the song. You can do this solo or by forming a party with other Shai's (max is 5 people). Also if you're intrested, we've been holding organized concerts since last year with the community! If you wanna come hang out with us we're usually in Velia tranan roof in Serendia-2 server!

Here are links to our past concert!
