Currently there is no way to hide pets specifically in your residence; you can set a general setting for pet visibility in your settings.  Under Settings, click Performance Settings, enter the Workers & Pets tab and under the Pets Category.

Yes you can hide your pets in your residence. There is a "paw" button on the top center of your screen when you enter your residence beside the "Place Mode" button. Click it to hide all the pets in your residence.
