Notices [Notice] Issues Running Black Desert With Certain Anti-Virus Programs
Black Desert 2021-03-25 13:09

Greetings Adventurers,

After the March 24th maintenance, we discovered an issue where the Avast anti-virus program incorrectly flags Black Desert.

If you are experiencing this issue, please refer below for more details.

■ Related Issues

- Opening the launcher causes a “Failed to download the patch file.” message to appear and you're unable to run the Black Desert client.

- A “load option” pop-up window appears and the game shuts down

■ How to Resolve the Issues

1) Open your active Avast anti-virus program

2)  In the left-side menu, go to [Protection] → [Virus Chest] → Look for BlackDesert64.exe in the detected files list → “...” → click [Restore]

3-1) In the right-hand menu, go to (≡) → [Settings] → [Protection] → [Ransomware Shield] → [View allowed/blocked apps] → Look for [BlackDesert64.exe] in the list of blocked apps →  “...” → Disable [Ransomware Shield] → [OK, STOP]

3-2) In the right-hand menu, go to (≡) → [Settings] → [Protection] → [Ransomware Shield] → [View allowed/blocked apps] → Add [BlackDesert] to allowed apps →  “...” → Activate [Ransomware Shield] → [Add]

We apologize for the inconvenience, and we will work harder to provide a better service.
