This is SEA Operation Team from Pearl Abyss!

It has already been more than 2 months since we officially launched Black Desert in SEA region.

We hope you are enjoying the rich, exciting game contents Black Desert has to offer.

First and foremost, we would like to say a big and heartfelt thank you for your unwavering support. We are reviewing your feedback, and working to deliver game contents within an appropriate time frame to make your gaming experiences more enjoyable. However, we understand there are rooms for improvement.

“How can we make the game more enjoyable for SEA gamers?”

“What can we do to make Black Desert more accessible for SEA newcomers?”

These were few of the many questions we asked ourselves when we launched our service in SEA region. We are working tirelessly even today to ensure that we deliver an enjoyable gaming experience for our fans.

With that said, we would like to take this time to share the 2018 Update Roadmap.

■ March Major Update

◈ New Class: Musa / Maehwa

We introduced Valkyrie on March 8 and Musa on March 22.

The next class we are introducing is Maehwa. Both Musa and Maehwa use longswords as their main weapon to execute lightning quick attacks and powerful combo strings.

The tons of damage from seamless skill chain features and exceptional maneuverability will provide unforgettably dynamic gameplay as you play Musa and Maehwa.

■ April Major Update

◈ Boss Raid: Field Boss, Boss Defense Gear, Patrigio Secret Shop, and class awakening

There are many boss encounters you’ll come across in Black Desert. There are bosses you can summon from scrolls, and bosses that require a team to take down. However, the field boss raid is one of the more exciting boss encounters in the game.

The field boss encounter is open to any adventurer up for the challenge. If you defeat the field boss, you can obtain rare items such as Boss Defense Gear. For those reasons, we expect many adventurers to participate in the field boss encounter.

◈ Secret Shop: Patrigio

There is a small shop in the corner of the city where adventurers gather. From Black Stones to Dim Tree Spirit Armor, Patrigio sells various rare items to adventurers from his Secret Shop.

Patrigio will usually hide in the shade during daytime, and only appear to sell items to adventurers in the evening. The items available from Patrigio’s Secret Shop does not have a fixed price. Patrigio will sometimes sell items at a very low price or at a very high price.

◈ Reborn stronger than ever! : Awakening of 12 Classes

We are preparing to open the awakening content for all 12 characters in April.

Many of our adventurers have been asking about the Awakening update and we apologize for giving such a late reply. We have been analyzing the playing pattern and speed of adapting to the new contents of the SEA region adventurers, in order to find the appropriate time to maximize the efficiency and enjoyment. We have come to the conclusion of implementing the updates in the following dates.

- 04/12 Warrior, Berserker, Ranger, Sorceress, Wizard, Witch

- 04/19 Tamer, Ninja, Kunoichi, Valkyrie, Musa, Maehwa

Once a character reaches level 56, they can take on the Awakening quests and once complete, obtain an Awakening weapon. With the awakening weapon equipped, adventurers can use a batch of new skills dedicated only to the awakening weapon and experience a whole new level of combat.

The update of awakening all 12 classes won’t happen on the same day, but split into 2 weeks. The reason for this is because we believe that adventurers should have enough time to prepare for the awakening quest, reaching level 56 and also fully enjoying and understanding the classes and contents. From our analysis, majority of the users are currently not at the stage where they are ready to have the awakening contents. Also, not much time has passed since the release of our most recent classes, hence we will be releasing the awakening update for the classes accordingly; the later released classes to be awakened a week after. So the first 6 classes will have their awakening update prior to the following 6 classes.

Following the Cherry Blossom and Water Festival Update, you can be sure to look forward to the Awakening Update.

■ May Major Updates

◈ New Territory Expansion : Valencia

The next territory that will open is a large desert territory that separates the two warring states, Kingdom of Valencia and Republic of Calpheon. The new territory is far bigger in size compared to other territories currently open in the game.

Adventurers cannot see themselves on the mini map/world map. Also, adventurers are susceptible to desert illness, because of the severe temperature change. You also need to watch out for sandstorms that can come at any time of the day.

Great rewards in the region will make adventures in Valencia more than worthwhile. Adventurers will also have access to various new activities and contents. Some of the new activities adventurers can take part in includes capturing elephant/camel, establishing new trade routes, and treasure hunting.

We will also add new hunting zones such as Bashim Base, Desert Naga Temple, and Basilisk Den. The new hunting zones will allow adventures to fight powerful monsters and acquire unique drops to grow stronger.

◈ Ancient Kutum - New World Boss

The new world boss, Ancient Kutum, can be found at Scarlet Sand Chamber.

If you defeat Ancient Kutum, you’ll have a chance to obtain the Kutum Sub-Weapon which has well-balanced stats.

■ June Major Update

◈ Valencia Part 2

This has been our roadmap for the first half the year, to give you an idea of what’s in store for our Adventurers in the year ahead. Aside from what was shared in the roadmap, there will also be weekly patches for new events and to maintain and improve existing contents for your convenience.

We will work tirelessly to bring you a better game throughout the rest of the year as well. After the Valencia Update, we’ll be back to inform you of our roadmap for the rest of the year! Look forward it!
