This is a guide about energy for beginners , I will go through what energy is , how to obtain it , how to use it , and how to regain it.

WHAT IS ENERGY ?

Energy is a form of resource in the world of Black Desert Online which is needed to perform certain actions.

It is indicated on the top left side of the screen , right above the health bar if you are playing on the remasterd UI.

It replenishes over time after you use any.

Energy points are Family-wide, which means after you acquire an energy point on any character , it will carry over to other characters in  your family.

You can use this to your advantage.

HOW TO GET MORE ENERGY ?

Energy points are gained by acquiring new knowledge.

Knowledge can be acquired by exploring the world of BDO and doing quests.

Reading books from bookshelves installed in your residance give you knowledge , it is a very slow and idle process hence its not really recommended , there are better things to do while you are not actively playing the game.

You can also gain energy depending on the number of titles you have. (Titles can be acquired by completing certain quests or tasks such as killing a specific number of monsters in a particular area.)

There are some food buffs like Whale meat salad that give you +10 Energy temporarily.

Transfusing Magic Crystals of Infinity - Energy into your shoes will give you +10 energy per crystal.

Knowledge is also acquired when you kill new monsters.(Killing one monster wont be enough , you will have to kill multiple monsters till you get the knowledge.)

The process of gaining energy is very lengthy and tedious after a certain point , and the maximum amount of energy that can be acquired without any buffs or crystals is 623.

HOW TO USE ENERGY ?

There are several different ways to use energy.

You can use it to gather resources manually, such as, Logs or saps from Trees , Blood or meat from animals etc. ( I will be going over a bit more in depth about life skills in another guide.)

2. Farming - Breeding or Harvesting.

3.Interacting with certain NPCs and using Conversation.

(Conversation is a mini-game designed to gain Amity from NPCs. Some NPCs sell some things

from their shop , only if you have certain amount of Amity.)

4. Some objects that give you specific knowledge can only be interacted with by using energy.

5. You can level up nodes using energy. (Will be going over CP and nodes in another guide as well.)

6. You can exchange your energy to turn it into an Energy potion from the NPC Alustin in velia.

(Do keep in mind that you lose more energy in this exchange. For example , 200 Energy is needed

to get XL Energy potion which replenishes only 50 energy, so do not use the character that you 

will be using to consume energy to do this exchange.)

7. You can exchange energy with black spirit to get a temporary Combat or Skill EXP buff.

8. You can use your energy while trading an item with a trading NPC. There is a Bargain game 

    that lets you get the maximum profit for the current trade.

9. Workers can be hired from a Worker Supervisor in any major city. 5 Energy is needed to check 

    which workers are availabe.

10. If you have a value pack , you can purchase nodes from a distance , which needs 10 energy.

HOW TO REPLENISH ENERGY ?

Energy gets replenished passively over time.

The rate is 1 energy per 3 minutes while you are in-game and 1 energy per 1 hour if u are logged off.

This rate can be increased by getting certain buffs.

1. Blessing of Kamasylve gives you +2 Energy per minute. ( Is availiable in the Loyalty/Pearl Shop or can 

be bought off the Central Market.)

2.Turning gates - can be acquired through Naphart Campsite that is available in Pearl shop , or you can

purchase an invitation to any Villa and interact with the NPC inside it.

Karashu's Villa is the closest if you are on the west side of the map.

3.You can purchase a bed from the Pearl shop or a furniture vendor that can be intalled in your 

   Residance. Interacting with this bed makes your character sleep on it and it replenishes +1 

   energy per minute.

4. You can find a hotspring in Duvencrune the Main city of Drieghan region , entering the hotspring will give you +1 Energy per minute.

Energy Potions can be used to instantly recover a certain amount of energy depending on the size

of the potion.

A small (S) Energy potion will recover 10 energy.

A medium (M) Energy potion will recover 20 Energy.

A Large (L) Energy potion will recover 30 energy.

An Extra Large (XL) Energy potion will recover 50 energy.

These potions can be bought from the Central market and Loyalty / Pearl shop.

You can also make the potions as I have mentioned before in this guide.

In my opinion , the most efficient and profitable way of using energy is by gathering.

Gathered resources can be used to craft some items and recipes that can be sold on the Central market

to earn silver.

Silver is the king in this game , you can buy almost everything you need on the Central market by using Silver.
