- During the event, the Book of Training item (used to train with a Scarecrow) will be available at a discounted price in the Pearl Shop (F3). You can purchase the Book of Training from the Pearl Shop (F3) > Black Spirit's Pick > Silver Event Items category!

Learn more about the Book of Training
Normally, the Book of Training can only be purchased from the Black Spirit’s Training NPCs located in the major towns/cities. But during the event, you can purchase the Book of Training from the Pearl Shop (F3) > Black Spirit's Pick > Silver Event Items category!
There are two types of Books of Training: Combat and Skill. As the name suggests, the two different types allow you to automatically obtain either Combat EXP or Skill EXP.
Need to leave your PC unattended for a bit? Try training with a Scarecrow and earn some Combat/Skill EXP while you’re gone!
How to Use a Book of Training!
All you need to do is right-click the Book of Training in your inventory to be able to interact with a Scarecrow.
- You can’t interact with a scarecrow if you’re in a party/platoon or don’t have a main/sub-weapon equipped.
Once you’ve used a Book of Training, try interacting (R) with the Scarecrows near the Black Spirit’s Training NPC Jamey Drucker.
While you cannot obtain more than 99% Combat EXP with a Book of Training – Combat, you can use EXP boosting scrolls to get more out of your time with the Book of Training. However, the Book of Training – Skill cannot be used with scrolls, so keep that in mind.
